Viruses?!

http://bbc.co.uk/blogs/technolog...ch_a_cold.html

Well, 150 of them (Windows has 10,000,000), the article mentions scam sites that persuade users to download "software" that will enable them to view movies.
I'm sure most wouldn't just download a random file, but could it be now time to install anti-virus on our machines? I've used a MAC for 20 years, never had a virus, and I wasn't "wearing protection"...

Yeah, I never considered using virus protection either. I'm not overly worried but I may look into what's out there for protection.

Well, it's now been over seven months since I started this thread. I have not installed any antivirus whatsoever, have surfed some very dodgy places, and my machine is still clean as a whistle.

Any mac-using members come across viruses since then?

It will happen. The trouble will probably arrive from all the pc owners moving across to the mac as they've had enough of the problems. The trouble is THEY probably caused the problems in the first place and they will cause a lot of problems for apple.

After all, apparently, you're a nerd if you use anything other than a mac!

P.s. I don't have a mac, have nothing against them, just the idiots who think that they're amazing. There's only so many ways you can type a letter and empty the recycle bin

Like I tell my kids, "You know what they call those people you call nerds at school in 10 years?"

Boss, Professor, Doctor, Counselor, Congressman...

As the Mac gets more and more popular, you're going to see more of this.
Enjoy it while you can.
In a few years, you'll have to worry about the same sh*t the rest of us do.
