Default Brock Lesnar Returning To The UFC At UFC 200

It's official: Brock Lesnar is returning to the UFC next month at UFC 200. A commercial promoting the event aired during tonight's UFC 199 show, which featured Lesnar at the end of the commercial.

Lesnar is slotted in the co-main event spot, with no opponent yet named. The main event will be Daniel Cormier defending the light heavyweight championship against Jon Jones.

FYI - Brock Lesnar remains under contract to WWE, however, he has been granted a one-off opportunity to compete at UFC 200. Following this milestone event on July 9, Brock will return to WWE for SummerSlam on Sunday, August 21, live on WWE Network.

I just finished watching the UFC 199 PPV fight.
Stunning all around.

Bisping got lucky if you ask me.

And Cruz ...I dunno but if I was a fighter and he came at me ducking down sideways and sideways....I'd throw more than a few kicks his direction. Uriah didn't throw more than 5 light kicks total in the fight...just say...ya know.

Ohhh! and Ariel Helwani gets Banned for doing his job reporting about Brock Lesnar in the upcoming UFC 200 PPV...WTF is that about. IS Ariel a actual reporter or a UFC paid reporter? Does he need to clear his reporting with the UFC heads before he airs them?

I could not wait someone to spoil results it so I don't be that guy. hahah

thanks L-Kabong!!

Amazing amazing event. Im happy entire day. Every time Bisping had #1 contender fight he would lose from guy that was juiced to the tits. Not fair!!

Universe finally re-paid him. So happy for him.

About Ariel, If UFC gave him credentials, that he used to spoil Brock's return while they do not even have opponent for him ( TBD ), they can also take away his "backstage" pass.

I do not agree with it, think hes the best reporter ever with best show, but.... If you gonna agro someone on purpose ( for clicks and twitter followers ), be ready to pay for your UFC event ticket next time and report from stands or from tv. Esp. since MMA press do not have protection journalist from other sports have.

In any case he's so popular he will probably be un-banned.

Best thing would be if press room on post fight press was empty to support him, but that will never happen. Every man for himself in MMA.

YeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

UFC 199 - I said it had the potential to be the best card of the summer, and I could be right - even though I don't have powers to peer into the future.

So many great fights. Just to mention my highlights:

I'm a big fan of T-City Ortega - despite the fact that he was being outclassed up until he pulled off the KO I was really pleased for him. He seems to do this a lot. Rides the fight and then pulls something out of the bag in the last minute or so. I think that's why I like him. Just a pity we didn't get to see any of his jiu jitsu game.

Dan Henderson. Wow!!! Really pleased for him as well. I really hope he retires now. He may be fit as a fiddle but I'd hate to see him turn punchy.

Holloway pointing to the ground, and then Lamas and himself going ape shit for the last ten seconds of the fight. Just awesome.

Felt sorry for Faber, partly cause I don't like Cruz who seems to whine a lot. I had similar thoughts to L-Kabong. Every time Cruz ducked in low I kept wondering why Faber didn't kick or knee him in the head. Maybe these things are easier said than done though.

But the cherry on the cake was Bisping knocking Rockhold spark out. With respect I don't agree with L-Kabong that Bisping got lucky. He caught him clean as a whistle to put him down, then caught him clean again to floor him for the second time and landed two more clean head shots when Rockhold was sitting on his butt. That's not luck - that's skill imo.

UFC 200 has a lot to live up to.

BTW. If you haven't heard yet Brock Lesner will face Mark Hunt at UFC 200 - so he won't have an easy night of it. Hunt has been in amazing form of late.

Shocker....

Quote:
MMA Fighter Kimbo Slice Dead At 42
He first gained fame as a backyard brawler whose street-fighting videos went viral online.

Dominique Mosbergen
Senior Writer, The Huffington Post

Professional mixed martial artist Kimbo Slice died Monday at the age of 42.

The announcement of his death came hours after Slice was reportedly hospitalized near his South Florida home for “undisclosed reasons.”

Scott Coker, president of MMA company Bellator, confirmed the news.

“We are all shocked and saddened by the devastating and untimely loss of Kimbo Slice, a beloved member of the Bellator family,” Coker said in a statement. “One of the most popular MMA fighters ever, Kimbo was a charismatic, larger-than-life personality that transcended the sport.”

Born Kevin Ferguson on Feb. 8, 1974 in the Bahamas, Slice first gained fame in the early 2000s as a backyard brawler whose street-fighting videos went viral online.

Slice made his MMA debut in 2007. According to TMZ, the 6-foot 2-inch, 225-pound brawler fought his last fight in February at Bellator 149, where he defeated Dada 5000. The victory, however, was reportedly overturned after Slice “tested positive for a banned steroid.”

Slice had a 5-2 record as an MMA fighter, his Bellator profile noted. He was also an undefeated professional boxer with a 7-0 record, TMZ reported.

Slice is survived by his longtime partner Antoinette Ray and six children.

Fans and fellow fighters took to social media to express their shock and sadness at the news of Slice’s death.

Just in case any of you missed it - the Diaz v McGregor fight has been confirmed for UFC 202 on 20th August.

Can't wait to see McGregor get his ass kicked again.

UFC waive four-month notice USADA drug testing requirement for Brock Lesnar at UFC 200

Quote:
Brock Lesnar’s upcoming return to MMA after an absence of four and a half years normally would have required four months advance notice to the UFC before he could be placed on a card.

But Lesnar’s return from retirement came under special enough of a circumstance that he was able to avoid that stipulation, part of the UFC’s Anti-Doping Policy rules, and was granted an exemption from the four-month notice policy, according to Yahoo! Sports‘ Kevin Iole.

This past Saturday during the UFC 199 pay-per-view broadcast, it was announced that Lesnar (5-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC) will fight in the UFC 200 heavyweight co-main event in July. On Monday, it was announced his opponent will be Mark Hunt (12-10-1 MMA, 7-4-1 UFC). UFC 200 takes place July 9 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

According to Rule 5.7.1 of the UFC’s Anti-Doping Policy, fighters coming out of retirement have to give the promotion a four-month heads up that they plan to return to the octagon. And that period is used to put that fighter into the pool for random out-of-competition drug testing.

However, according to the rule, an exemption may be given, at the UFC’s discretion, “in exceptional circumstances or where the strict application of that rule would be manifestly unfair to an Athlete.”

That will be the case for Lesnar, who most recently fought in late December 2011 in a title eliminator against Alistair Overeem, who stopped him with a first-round TKO.

In a statement to Yahoo! Sports, the UFC said Lesnar’s length of time away from the promotion, as well as the fact he only signed a deal to fight at UFC 200 this past Friday, a day before his return was announced, were contributing factors in waiving the four-month notice rule.

“Given Lesnar last competed in UFC on December 30, 2011, long before the UFC Anti-Doping Policy went into effect, for purposes of the Anti-Doping Policy, he is being treated similarly to a new athlete coming into the organization,” the UFC’s statement to Yahoo! reads. “While conversations with the heavyweight have been ongoing for some time, Lesnar required permission from WWE to compete in UFC 200 and only agreed to terms and signed a bout agreement last Friday. He was therefore unable to officially start the Anti-Doping Policy process any earlier. UFC, however, did notify Lesnar in the early stages of discussions that if he were to sign with the UFC, he would be subject to all of the anti-doping rules. Lesnar and his management have now been formally educated by USADA on the policy, procedures and expectations.”

Lesnar returns to the cage for the first time since his loss to Overeem, which concluded a four-year UFC run that included a two-year reign as heavyweight champion. Lesnar first joined the UFC in 2008 after a 2000 NCAA Division I national wrestling championship and a successful run as a WWE star.

The 38-year-old won the UFC belt with a 2008 win over Randy Couture and defended it with victories over Frank Mir and Shane Carwin. However, following subsequent defeats to Cain Velasquez and Alistair Overeem – and a lengthy battle with diverticulitis – Lesnar retired from the UFC and eventually returned to pro wrestling.

According to a WWE statement, Lesnar’s UFC 200 involvement is a “one-off opportunity” and doesn’t mark a full-time return to MMA.

Seems a bit shady to me. Personally I think he's probably juiced to the tits.

Yeah I too was shocked when I head that Kimbo Slice died....

Brought back sad memories of when the "Big Guy" actor Michael Clarke Duncan died in 2012.

I don't know what it is, but I guess I'm not alone in thinking that because these guys are so big (Both in size and in personality) that they should live long lives and so we are shocked when they die young.

Hahahaahhaha.....I'd have to agree with that, and would personally love seeing him get his ass kicked again, or more accurately his face pummeled.
